Destiny Training and Learning Resource Center was founded in October 2000 as a non-profit organization with a mission to better the lives of those it surrounds. Our vision is to bring high quality training services to those that are hardest to reach and normally would not have the opportunity to participate in many of the programs available to them. By working with impoverish, at risk and dysfunctional families and children, we are able to enable them to do more for themselves and their communities.
John Nobles Youth Project is one of those opportunities to make a difference by providing and teaching at- risk youth through the implementation of tutoring, workshops on critical decision making, self esteem, anger and problem solving, and cultural diversity through a program called the
Ten Steps Rites of Passage. A program adapt from the National Family Life & Education Center of Culver City, California.
The John Nobles Youth Project (JNYP) targets the social development of minority and emancipated youth between the ages of 8 to 18 by addressing five main areas of training and awareness to those living in and around the John Nobles Ranch Community of Indio,California of which the majority of youth are African American and Hispanic. This program provides an opportunity for the young people of our community to better equip themselves with the tools to make better transitions back into their communities and in other existing programs by encouraging education, as well as, life and social skills.
